The Challenge:
Breathing new life into a historic Leeds site
Caddick Construction led the redevelopment of the former Yorkshire Rider Social Club site. The project aimed to create 58 high-quality, energy-efficient apartments near Quarry House in central Leeds.
The brief included sustainable heating, EV charging, and private gardens for ground-floor homes. The surrounding landscape needed to support biodiversity while enhancing resident wellbeing.
The Transformation:
From derelict land to a thriving community space
What was once a neglected urban plot is now a welcoming place to live. Lush grassed areas and young trees provide cleaner air and visual beauty.
The landscaped gardens give residents much-needed green space to relax and connect with nature. This transformation reflects Atlas Green’s mission to build greener, healthier communities.
The Approach:
Smart landscaping with sustainability at its core
Atlas Green was chosen to deliver the external landscaping works. Our goal was to create a vibrant green setting that complements the development’s sustainable design.
We imported over 2,000 tonnes of topsoil to shape and enrich the outdoor spaces. Across the site, we laid 2,200 rolls of turf, planted 1,000 trees and shrubs, and installed gravel paths for walking and leisure. Each ground-floor apartment was given its own private garden, adding real value for residents.
