The Challenge:
Creating a show home garden with real impact
David Wilson Homes asked Atlas Green to design and build a show home garden that would inspire buyers and showcase the full potential of the outdoor space. The development sits in an area known for scenic walks and excellent cycling routes, so the garden needed to reflect a strong connection to nature.
We were given a simple drawing and asked to create a garden that met RSPB Gold standard. This meant adding features that support birds, bees, and other wildlife while still delivering a clean, modern look.
The Transformation:
A field turned into a rich, vibrant garden
The area began as an empty field. We transformed it into a wildlife friendly space with year round interest. A large wildflower area now supports pollinators and adds colour through the seasons.
We also installed a bench overlooking open fields. This gives residents and visitors a quiet place to pause, relax, and enjoy the views. The finished space blends natural beauty with thoughtful design, helping the show home stand out from the moment people arrive.
The Approach:
Thoughtful design with a focus on wildlife
Working with Barratt David Wilson Redrow Homes, we built a range of features to bring the garden to life. We installed a wildlife pond made with locally sourced Yorkshire stone. We used evergreen trees where suitable and added plants that attract bees, birds, and insects.
To add a playful touch, we created a bee themed feature at the front of the home. This gives visitors something fun to interact with while highlighting the area’s ecological focus.
